Welcome to the Thorp Gallery
We are a new artist -run local gallery focussing on sharing local talent with the community. We aim to have a rolling series of exhibitions but have a standing collection of both analogue and digital photography by resident artist Scott Thorp.
The gallery itself is run primarily from the front rooms of an old 1910 Villa. We are located at 32 Simeon Quay, at the corner of Cunningham Terrace with views over Whakaraupo / Lyttelton Harbour and Otamahua / Quail island. We love the history and the community of our space
We are a team of two, Scott and Alethea Thorp. Together we both manage the day-to-day operation of the gallery. Whether you are interested in the works for sale or are an artist curious about our gallery and exhibition schedule, we would love to hear from you.
We are only regularly open on Fridays from 1:30-6:30 pm, but we understand that this doesn't meet everyone's schedule, so please reach out if you are in town, and we will see if we can accommodate you! Look for the open flag at the corner of Cunningham Terrace!
